Frensham
Since 1913, we have been committed to developing young people of integrity, empathy and conviction, shaped through shared residential life.
Frensham is the largest all-girls boarding school in Australia, with more than 70% of students living on campus. Rural and regional students make up around 80% of our community, and for those families, boarding at Frensham provides care and a genuine sense of belonging within a close and supportive environment.
The boarding program is purposefully structured to balance academic rigour with a rich co-curricular offering. Daily routines are designed to support personal growth, while living and learning together brings students of different backgrounds, interests and perspectives into close connection, shaping confidence, empathy and a diversity of character over time.
With many students remaining on campus over weekends, life in residence follows a steady, connected rhythm. Across Frensham’s 300-acre campus, students engage in sport, creative pursuits and outdoor experiences, balanced with time for rest and reflection.
Boarding is organised across two Junior and two Senior Boarding Houses, each intentionally small so every student is known and supported. Multi-year houses foster friendships across age groups and a strong mentoring culture, with Heads of House drawn from the academic staff to ensure continuity between boarding and the school day.
Boarding at Frensham is not an addition to school life; it is integral to the daily experience and central to the character of a Frensham education.
