Easter Holiday Treats

Share

EasterFor many of us, chocolate is a secret pleasure. That means Easter is a very exciting time of year. While it’s fun to indulge occasionally and we all know holidays should be a time to relax, unwind and enjoy each other’s company – perhaps the secret at this time of year is to remember that Easter isn’t all about chocolate.

Easter is traditionally the most important Christian festival of the year. It also marks the end of the 40 days of Lent – a time when some people give up chocolate as part of this period of sacrifice and prayer.

One thing we can focus on at Easter is the importance of family and caring for each other. And a good way to reinforce that is to create your family’s own Easter traditions.

Michael Grose promotes the concept of a family brand and part of that brand is family rituals and traditions. At Easter, it might be something as simple as an Easter egg hunt to start the morning on Easter Sunday, or Grandma’s fish pie for dinner on Good Friday. Grose says that rituals “anchor your kids to their family” and “make a statement about what you value”.

So what is it that your family values and what will you be doing together next weekend?
