Established in 1931, Clayfield College is located in Brisbane’s stunning, leafy northern suburbs and welcomes students from across Australia and around the world. The College is proudly owned and governed by the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association.
Boarding at Clayfield College is an incredibly rewarding experience, where each child is supported to learn, grow, and thrive in a warm and nurturing environment. The College’s Boarding House cares for students from Years 7 to 12 and is a vibrant and significant part of our community. Our boarders enrich Clayfield life with their diverse experiences and talents. The Boarding House is home to more than 85 students, including those from rural Queensland, interstate, and overseas.
Clayfield College is renowned for its high academic standards, exceptional teaching, innovative Parallel Learning model, and strong emphasis on personal excellence. This model, unique in Queensland, allows students to experience the benefits of coeducation in their early years and Junior School, before moving into single-sex classes from Years 7 to 9, and returning to fully coeducational learning in Years 10 to 12. Families are not required to choose between single-sex or coeducational schooling in advance; Clayfield truly offers the best of both worlds.
Students have access to an extensive range of sporting, music, cultural, enrichment, and community service opportunities, and participation in cocurricular activities is strongly encouraged as part of College life. Our SHINE – Athlete Support and Enrichment Program supports students pursuing high-level sport, while our Music Program offers rich pathways for developing musicians. Students also have the opportunity to broaden their horizons through a variety of tours and exchange programs, including the Spanish Tour, Canberra Tour, the Trafalgar Exchange Program, the Pymble Exchange Program, and the Cambridge Scholars’ Programme.
At the heart of a Clayfield education is our nurturing pastoral care program, which supports every student’s spiritual, emotional, and academic growth, ensuring they are known, valued, and empowered to let their light shine in our Clayfield community.
