For more than 135 years, Shore has been an Anglican boys’ boarding school that many regional and rural families have trusted to educate their sons. Generations of country boarders have found Shore to be a place where they can grow in confidence, character, and capability while accessing a breadth of academic, cultural, and sporting opportunities that prepare them for life beyond school.

In the 2025 HSC, Shore was once again placed among the highest‑achieving non‑selective boys’ schools in NSW, reflecting the strength of our teaching and the commitment of our students. Boarding plays a central role in this success. It provides boys – particularly those from regional and rural communities – with seamless access to our academic programme and a stable, supportive environment that allows them to fully engage in school life.

Boarders are at the heart of Shore. Over 180 boys live across four boarding houses overlooking Sydney Harbour, forming a close-knit community built on routine, consistency, and genuine care. Collaboration between staff, families, and boys ensures each boarder feels known, supported, and encouraged to make the most of the opportunities available to him.
Our Boarding Housemasters and resident staff work hard to create an environment where boys can thrive academically, socially, and personally. We understand the significance of the decision to send a son away for school, and we are committed to providing a home-away-from-home where character is built, friendships are forged, and boys learn to become capable, grounded young men.
