Boarding
Boarding is available from Year 7 to Year 12 and is a central part of school life. The boarding community includes students from rural and regional NSW, metropolitan Sydney, expatriate and overseas families, with over 85% of boarders from rural NSW. Year 7 is the main entry point for boarding, with most girls—day and boarding—starting together, supporting a smooth transition and strong peer connections.
McCabe House, the school’s new purpose‑built boarding house, is opening in the coming months. It provides increased capacity, flexible accommodation, dedicated study and communal spaces, and a strong focus on sustainability and connection to the wider campus. Watch the McCabe House video below to find out more.
Loreto Normanhurst offers a flexible boarding model that supports academic progress, wellbeing and extra‑curricular involvement. Boarders benefit from structured study, strong pastoral care, and full participation in school life.

Award-winning model of education
A Loreto education places equal emphasis on learning and on building relationships in a caring community. Our unique and robust Loreto Normanhurst Student Growth Model (LNSGM) motivates our students to be life-long learners and critical thinkers dedicated to all areas of our FACE Curriculum – Faith, Academic, Community and Extra-curricular. Guided by an active faith, we prioritise social justice and encourage students to take action in service of their communities.
The success of the model in the academic realm is evident in the school’s strong results. In the 2025 HSC, Loreto Normanhurst achieved:
We provide access to our unique brand of holistic learning to rural, regional and Indigenous students through the schools’ boarding program. Specific places are available through the school’s Equity and First Nations Scholarships for those who may not otherwise be able to access a Loreto education.
