Around Australia with Our ICPA

Throughout the year, we’ve been following the work of the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association – the ICPA – across Australia. In these short episodes, we’ll be catching up with each State/Territory Council President to hear how their delegations to Parliament have gone, what motions were carried from their Annual Conferences, and the wins and challenges they’ve faced along the way.

These conversations are a chance to celebrate the tireless advocacy of rural, regional and remote families who continue to champion equitable access to education – from early childhood right through to tertiary.

ICPA has been a significant part of my life. As an active member of my local branch, I’ve made lifelong friends, advocated for issues that matter, and shared the story of the work we do. Now I have the privilege of amplifying those voices even further – supporting ICPA through sponsorship, advertising, and every opportunity to shine a light on their impact.

Thank you to the following Councils* for participating in our first year of ‘Around Australia with the ICPA’:

NSW, President Annabel Strachan

Northern Territory, President Moira Lanzarin

Queensland, President Wendy Henning

South Australia, President Belinda Hatcher

Western Australia, President Jane Cunningham

*Federal President Louise Martin was invited to participate however she declined.
Please contact Louise Martin for further information on that decision.

The School of the EXPO Award celebrates genuine connection between families and schools. Voted on by families attending each event, the award recognises schools that stand out for their friendliness, presentation, and knowledge of boarding life. It’s a fun, interactive way for families – and their children – to engage with the schools in the room, while giving exhibitors valuable feedback on what resonates most. Each winning school receives a free registration for the following year’s Expo in recognition of their excellence.
