Across rural and remote Australia, families face unique barriers to accessing education. 

  • Students in remote areas are 40% less likely to complete Year 12 compared to their metropolitan peers.
  • Many small rural schools are closing or merging due to declining enrolments.
  • Teacher shortages and high turnover leave learning gaps across rural and remote Australia.
  • Families travel hundreds of kilometres for sporting, cultural or academic opportunities – a challenge city families rarely face.

1. The Future Room – Community Outreach

Taking opportunity to the heart of the bush.

Through The Future Room, our Foundation travels to rural and remote communities to connect directly with families – many of whom are hearing about boarding school for the f irst time. These relaxed, informative sessions demystify the process, share real stories, and offer guidance on accessing scholarships and support. As a corporate or philanthropic partner, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Join our team at select Future Room events across Australia.
  • Be visibly recognised as a supporter of rural and remote families and education.
  • Connect face-to-face with families, schools, and community leaders.
  • Demonstrate genuine commitment to the sustainability and prosperity of rural Australia.

2. Scholarship Sponsorship – Spirit of the Bush Scholarship Fund

Backing families. Building futures.

Each scholarship represents life-changing opportunity for a rural or remote family – covering 50% of a child’s total boarding school costs, ranging from $10,000 to $45,000 per year, depending on the school. Applications will open to families seeking Year 7 and Year 9 entry, with scholarships awarded based on family merit – recognising financial need, community contribution, and the definable Spirit of the Bush. As a partner, you’ll:

  • Receive reporting on the tangible outcomes your support achieves.
