Snowy Mountains Grammar School (SMGS) offers a distinctive boarding experience shaped by care, character, and opportunity. Set within a remarkable alpine environment, students are known as individuals and supported to flourish academically, socially, and personally.

“Our boarding intention is to provide a ‘home away from home’ experience. We aim to be flexible, where possible, to provide an individual and nurturing experience for all students. We encourage students to embrace challenge, to be involved, to find their passion and learn new skills,” says SMGS Head of Boarding, Mrs Melissa Kenney.

Surrounded by an exceptional natural environment, SMGS boarders enjoy access to an extensive co-curricular and activities program. Opportunities include skiing up to three days per week in winter, equestrian, aviation, mountain biking, rugby, soccer, netball, Navy Cadets, and a wide range of outdoor education experiences. Weekend programs regularly explore Lake Jindabyne, Kosciuszko National Park, Canberra, and the South Coast.

SMGS offers flexible boarding options to suit modern families, including weekly boarding, full-time boarding, winter-only boarding (Term 3), and the School’s renowned Snowsports Academy.
