Founded in 1863, Newington College is an ELC to Year 12 school located in Stanmore and Lindfield, Sydney. Affiliated with the Uniting Church, the College warmly welcomes students and families of all religious and cultural backgrounds.
Transitioning to co-education from 2026, Newington is now accepting girls into Kindergarten and Year 5 at our Lindfield and Stanmore (Wyvern) Prep campuses. From 2028, girls will also be welcomed into Year 7 and Year 11 at our Senior campus in Stanmore, with the College planning to become fully co-educational by 2033.
Boarding is currently open for boys in Years 9-12 at our Senior Stanmore campus. As we gradually transition to a fully co-educational environment, we will continue to explore ways to offer boarding for girls in the future. We do not plan to offer boarding in the initial co-ed years. Families interested in girls’ boarding are encouraged to get in contact with us.
The Edmund Webb Boarding House is a five-minute walk from the Newington College Senior Campus in Stanmore, located on a major transport line and only minutes from Sydney University and the CBD.
The Boarding House accommodates 50 boys from year 9-12. Four staff members and their families live on site to ensure a high level of care and supervision for the students. Newington strives to make the boarding house a home, where students are safe, respected, supported and cared for. Our inclusive, close-knit, multi-faith and multicultural teaching and student body come from diverse geographic areas across Sydney, NSW, and overseas.
At Newington, our vision and strategy for the future is simple. We are a restless school eager to continually improve the way we motivate and encourage our students, staff and community. Our vision is to empower students to develop great hearts, inspired minds and strong wings, ready to make a positive contribution to society and the future.
